Thank you!

by Stephanie Dyke, Genomics Forum Bright Ideas Fellow
Policy Adviser, Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute

Wellcome Trust Sanger InstituteThe ESRC Bright Ideas Fellowship allowed me to spend time in Edinburgh at the Genomics Policy and Research Forum to work on some of the ethical aspects of data sharing policy and to learn more about the work of researchers at the Forum and throughout the ESRC Genomics Network.

As policy adviser for a scientific research institute one of my main tasks is to focus on how science is conducted. Having the opportunity to discuss my work with Genomics Network researchers from different disciplines, and to hear about their experiences and current interests, was very enriching.

I also met students interested in scientific policy and writers in residence at the Forum, which reminded me again of the importance of interdisciplinary understanding. Thanks again to everyone involved.
